In coastal folklore, skerries are the boundaries between the safety of the shore and the wild, unknown ocean. They are the resting places of seals who are traditionally thought to be selkies (mythical shapeshifters). Skerry Light is the thin, magical boundary where the sea changes character and glows with ethereal energy, just before the open ocean takes over.
